Your Perfect Party Place
CHATEAU GRIMALDI
Puyricard, Provence
If your own home is more the 3-bed rather than the 11-bed variety and just isn't grand enough for your celebration, how about taking your friends and family to a 17th century chateau once owned by Cardinial Jerome de Grimaldi? There's something for everyone in this fabulous residence, which is just 4 miles north of Aix en Provence. Setin 12 acres of park-like ground, guests can spend hours wandering across the various lawns, past fountains and terraces and the grounds have beautiful views of Mont Sant Victoire and nearby villages. If the gardens aren't enough to pass the time, then the tennis court should provide amusement, while the swimming pool is set within the beautiful ruins of the Cardinal's Palace. Evenings can be spent basking in teh warm Provencal sunshine with an aperitif before a lavish dinner in the dining room surrounded by 18th century paintings.
After dinner, take coffee in the salon or library, both are decorated in Provencal yellows and furnished with beautiful antiques, mirrors, paintings and fireplaces. For truly memorable moments, the Cardinal's chapel can be used for weddings, dinner parties or concerts.
