The Barbados Villa Book
The Caribbean
Destination Guide
Of all the Caribbean islands, Barbados is perhaps the best loved by the British. The British influence remains very strong here, from its place names to its national passion for cricket. It is small island (just 21 miles long and 14 miles wide) and, despite not having much in the way of natural resources, it enjoys one of the highest standards of living in the Caribbean. Tourism is acknowledged as being of major importance to the economy and visitors are welcomed, and the standard of hotels and villas is very high. The average temperature is 86 degrees all year round, making it an ideal holiday destination at any time. The villas we have for rent on Barbados are among the finest in the world. They are often private holiday homes of people who have chosen Barbados as their retreat in the Caribbean sun. All are staffed by Barbadians and, depending on the size and standard of the villa, the staff may consist of just a maid and cook, or up to around 8 staff, including in some cases, a house manager to assist guests. The staff expect to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner and often will be prepared to do the food shopping, after discussing with guests what types of dishes they prefer. All our villas are located on the popular west coast of the island with its magnificent white sand beaches. Several are on the exclusive Sandy Lane Estate, either on the beach front, or further back in the hills, near the golf course and with wonderful views of the sea. Even here, it is just a short drive to the beach where guests will have access to the owner’s beach cabana, usually housing sun loungers and a small fridge to keep drinks cool. There is a large choice of water sports available, including windsurfing, banana boats and snorkelling. As well as the golf course, Sandy Lane also has a tennis club. For lovers of golf, the luxurious Royal Westmoreland resort has a superb world class, 18-hole championship golf course. North of Sandy Lane, we also feature villas on the beautiful white sand beaches at Mullins Bay, Gibbs Bay and Reeds Bay. All are within easy reach of the towns of Holetown and Speightstown, with a good choice of shops, restaurants and bars. The villas shown on our website are examples of what we have available. If you do not find what you are looking for, please ask, as more properties are available through our local agents.
