Blue Waters Resort is set in 14 acres of tropical gardens, in a secluded cove away from most of the island’s hotel complexes. The capital, St John, is a 15 minute drive away, and good restaurants can be found in nearby Hodges Bay and Dickenson Bay. There is a golf course at Cedar Valley, about 10 minutes drive away, and the best windsurfing and kitesurfing on the island, approximately 5 minutes drive away. Part of this beautiful resort hotel, Rock Cottage is a spectacular villa, perched on a rocky promontory in the farthest corner of Soldier’s Bay, in the north-west of the island.
With stunning panoramic sea views, it is entirely private and separate from the hotel, yet just a two minute walk away from the resort’s facilities and restaurants. These include non-motorised water sports, tennis, three swimming pools, a games room, a beauty salon and spa, two bars and the full use of the Palm al Fresco and Vyviens à la carte restaurants. There is also a 24ft power boat and skipper (48 hours notice required) available at extra charge. There are two white sandy beaches within walking distance of the hotel, as well as a secluded white sandy beach at Langford Bay, accessible by water from the villa. The spectacular setting, includes several platforms and terraces for sunbathing, and a private plunge pool, built into the rocks. There is also a private jetty, where guests can swim and snorkel in the calm water, or kayak across to Langford Bay.
The five bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms and wonderful ocean views. The master bedroom is in a separate building and its bathroom has large windows offering a full view of the coastline. The living room has two sitting areas, with an archway that provides a slight division between a formal area and the more casual family area, with satellite TV, DVD player, CD player, DVD and CD library. The rooms open to a wrap around furnished terrace from where the views can be enjoyed. Further amenities include air conditioning, internet access, a safe and a barbecue. Because of its location, it is not a suitable villa for very young children.
