The small island of Anguilla is just 3 miles wide and 16 miles long. Its flat, rather barren landscape is bordered by some of the most magnificent white sand beaches to be found anywhere in the Caribbean. If a relaxing beach holiday is what you are looking for, then you need look no further! The miles of unspoilt soft white coral sand and clear crystal waters are absolutely dazzling in their beauty.

The island atmosphere is addictively quiet and peaceful and, because it is such a small island, all the beaches are easily accessible. Water sports are available and tend to be centred around the hotels. The clear blue water and excellent coral reefs also offer good diving and snorkelling. Visit the pristine beaches at Meads Bay or Shoal Bay West for water sports and a good choice of beach bars, or Island Harbour, a quaint fishing village, with its brightly painted fishing boats bringing in the catch of the day. From here, you can also take the ferry to the tiny island of Scilly Cay with its famous beach bar and restaurant (also accessible by helicopter). Just 20 minutes away by ferry is the French/Dutch island of St. Martin/St. Maarten, well worth a day trip, or for a holiday of contrasts, part of a two-centre holiday with Anguilla.

Anguilla can be reached by flight from San Juan in one hour, from Antigua in 45 minutes or from St. Martin in 7 minutes.
