This newly built house, in the style of a traditional Andalusian ‘cortijo’, is situated just a five minute drive from the pretty village of Gaucin. At 626 metres above sea level, Gaucin is one of the famous white villages (pueblos blancos) dotted intermittently along the old Roman road which runs from Algeciras to Ronda. With its mild climate and numerous restaurants, Gaucin has much to offer the holidaymaker, without having become too commercialised and losing its charm. Local activities which can be arranged include cycling, riding, guided walks, Spanish lessons and art lessons. The house is set in a peaceful and tranquil position, at the highest point of a 45 acre working farm, with uninterrupted views across the Alcomocales national park and the valleys of the Rio Guadiano, as far as Gibraltar and the Rif mountains in Morocco. The rooms have been decorated and furnished to a very high standard and the main living areas open to a covered terrace at the front with sitting and dining areas, from where the wonderful views can be enjoyed. The large furnished pool terrace has an L-shaped pool (12 x 5m) and a pool house at one end with summer kitchen (sink, fridge and dishwasher) and a dining area, seating 20 people). In addition, there is a formal Andalusian courtyard with fruit trees and a further outdoor dining area, seating 20. Amenities include satellite TV in all bedrooms and wi-fi internet access. The property is only available for rent during the months of June, July, August and September and is rented on a half board basis. Breakfast, dinner, house wine, beer and soft drinks are all included in the rental price. It offers an ideal venue for special celebrations, including birthdays, anniversaries and weddings, as well as corporate functions. No children under the age of 16 years.
