This very comfortable villa is situated in a wonderful position on the Punta de la Mona, overlooking the magnificent bay of La Herradura. Just a few minutes drive from the towns of La Herradura and Almunecar, the area offers a wide range of sights and activities. There are tennis clubs and diving schools within walking distance of the property, and a large marina, Marina del Este, approximately 2 kms away, where arrangements can be made to charter a 30’ Sea Ray powerboat with skipper, water skis and dinghy, for water skiing and visiting beaches. The coastline between Nerja and Almeria is mountainous with lots of small coves and beaches, some deserted and some with small beach bars serving delicious fresh fish.
There are three golf courses with a half hour drive, and an abundance of restaurants in the area. Horse riding, trekking and mountainbiking are available in the surrounding mountains, and the famous ski resort, Sierra Nevada is only an hour away from the house. The local market town of Almunecar is worth a visit for its Moorish castle, botanical gardens and Roman monuments. To the east lies Salobrena, a picturesque white village with an impressive Arab fortress and, 15 kms to the west is Nerja, home to one of the largest cave systems in Europe and some of the tallest stalactic pillars in the world.
The house is surrounded by terraced gardens and the views from the infinity pool (8 x 4m) and the Jacuzzi are straight out over the Mediterranean. The living room and dining room also open to spacious covered terraces with spectacular sea views. Each of the seven bedrooms, as well as the hall, living and dining rooms, have air conditioning and heating. Further amenities include TV, DVD, stereo system, a ping pong table and a barbecue.
