This historical Quinta, 45 minutes to the north of Lisbon, is situated in a magnificent landscape of vineyards and hills crowned with windmills. It has been carefully renovated throughout to provide luxurious holiday accommodation for parties of either 10 (main house only), or up to 18 people (main house and guest cottage). The area offers historic interest, with its links to the Peninsular War in the early 19th century, and is also ideal for walks, cycling of horse riding. The west coast beaches, a 30 minute drive away, can also be visited, and the Berlengas Islands, a beautiful natural maritime reserve. The medieval fortress village of Obidos and the Convent de Mafra are both close by, as well as several excellent golf courses, including the Praia d’El Rey Golf and Country Club, one of the best golf courses in Portugal.
Built within the original old stone walls, the Quinta has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard, in a classical style with many antiques. There are spacious communal areas for relaxing, reading or playing cards, and also a piano room. The central courtyard of the main house is ideal for small private or corporate parties. The guest house features an old grape treading tank in the central sitting room and a billiard table. For groups of up to 10 people, occupying the main house only, use of the guest house billiard table is included. Both the main house and guest house benefit from west facing covered verandas, with lovely views over the countryside. Amenities include satellite TV (large TV in main reception rooms as well as small TVs in each bedroom), DVD and CD players, and a portable barbecue.
A cobblestone path, bordered with lavender, leads to different areas of the garden. Right in front of the main house is a large lawn with trees and, at a lower level, is the swimming pool (12 x 6m), with surrounding terrace, bar and shower/WC. The immediate landscaped grounds around the Quinta are 10,000 square metres, but the property is at the centre of a total of 8 hectares. Young toddlers would need to be supervised at this property, due to some unprotected garden level drops, as well as the wide staircase in the main house. Flexible changeover day at this property, but stays must be a minimum of one week.

On the left, there is a double bedroom and twin bedroom, each with en-suite bathroom, and a small kitchenette with microwave.
