This very spacious, modern minimalist villa has panoramic views over sand dunes, the Alvor estuary and the ocean beyond - a unique and ever-changing seascape, providing hours of peaceful relaxation watching the cockle pickers, the kite surfers, and the moored yachts. In the evening the distant coastal lights make for a magical atmosphere. Located between Lagos and Alvor in the western Algarve, the property is close to shops and general amenities, beaches, golf courses and nightlife. Meia Praia 3,5 kms away, is only one of the many beaches nearby; and there are first-class golf courses at Palmares, Boavista and Parque da Floresta. Lagos with its cobbled pedestrian centre, is a hive of activity in the summer months, with many shops open till late and numerous restaurants to chose from. Motor and sailing boats can be hired from Lagos marina. The Estuary has been designed to make the most of the stunning views and the fantastic Algarve weather - it has terracotta tiled floors, natural wood and marble interiors, and large panoramic windows. All the bedrooms suites are very spacious and located on the ground floor, while the living areas are on the first floor. All the double rooms have queen-size beds and the property is fitted with under floor heating/cooling throughout, included in the rental price. The office is equipped with a computer terminal with internet access and printer, plus telephone and fax, available for client use by special arrangement. Other equipment includes wide screen satellite TV, DVD player with library of DVDs, a music system in the sitting room, an extra wide screen satellite TV in the master bedroom and hairdryers. To make their guests feel especially welcome, the owners of The Estuary offer an “honesty bar and wine cellar” facility – help yourself to their private selection, and either replace or pay for beverages drunk at end of your stay. The swimming pool (58 sq metres with a lap area, and 1.60 m deep) is surrounded by a sun terrace with sun loungers, extending to an outdoor dining area with a large dining table, electric awnings and gas barbecue. The pool terrace has an outdoor dining area and has steps at either side of the villa down to the garden level. There are several villas nearby but all are very private. The grounds total 1,250 sq metres, surrounded by high walls with an electric gate and there is a landscaped garden to the front, planted with herbs, colourful shrubs and lawn areas, as well as a flood lit path that goes all around the villa. There is a small gym indoors and 3 mountain bikes available for guest use. The owners request that there is no smoking indoors, and would prefer no children under the age of 10 years.
