Situated right on the coast at Praia da Marinha, this holiday home is ideally suited for large families. Just 5 minutes walk from the beach, it is very private and has stunning views of the sea. The pretty beach has some good examples of the dramatic rock formations for which this part of the Algarve is renowned. It has also recently been awarded a ‘gold flag’, which means it is one of the safest and cleanest for swimming. Other amenities within easy reach of the property include golf courses, restaurants and a spa.
The interiors of the villa are simply furnished for relaxed living, with rustic furniture and some antiques (including traditional Portuguese wrought-iron beds). A wide spiral staircase links the left wing ground and first floor levels where most of the bedrooms are located. The bedrooms on the lower ground floor are more suitable for a nanny with children, or for teenagers. A central patio with large glass windows and terracotta tiled floor keeps the house cool during the summer months. Immediately in front of the villa, the sitting room and twin bedroom open to a large partly covered terrace, with wide open stairs leading to the pool terrace with seawater swimming pool (16 x 8m). This terrace is equipped with table, chairs, sunloungers and a pool shower while, on a lower level, is a changing room with shower and WC.
The house is surrounded by a typical Mediterranean garden with herbs, vines, hibiscus, mimosa, oleander, pine and fig trees. The grounds total 28,000 square metres and include some staff cottages and a smaller second house, sometimes occupied by the owner, but these are not close to the villa, and do not interfere with guests’ privacy. A small gate in the hedge of the property opens to a public footpath which leads to the wooden staircase access down to the beach. This property allows for flexible changeover days, but minimum rental period is one week. A baby cot and high chair are available on request.

Rosa Maria has worked at the property for over 20 years and cleans daily from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., except Sundays and holidays. After her cleaning duties are over, she is very happy to prepare some typical Portuguese dishes for guests, or do babysitting on request, at extra cost. |
