This property is a typical Alentejo “monte” (traditional homestead) built on top of a hill, in very peaceful country location with uninterrupted views over wild meadows and cork trees to the sea. Nearby attractions include the quaint river and seaside village of Comporta, with beach and restaurants, 20 minutes away. The nearest beach to the property is just a 10 minute drive and there are facilities for horse riding 10 kms away.
Although the structure of both the main house and guest cottage are typical of the area, with thick walls, wooden ceilings and terracotta floor tiles; the interiors have been very stylishly decorated with ethnic furniture, modern art and colourful Indian fabrics, a blend that gives the “monte” a particularly relaxing and welcoming holiday atmosphere. The accommodation is very spacious and equipped with all mod cons, including central heating (on request/at an extra cost) for the cooler months. Further amenities include cable TV , DVD and CD players, and a barbecue.
Immediately surrounding the house is a very pretty terraced garden with many herbs and flowers. The grounds total just under 20 hectares of land that include a round swimming pool (60 sq. meters, flood lit and with steps) and pool house with gym, a Jacuzzi and a games room with pool and table football. There is also a tennis court with spectator sun cover, situated approximately 300 meters from the main house. A fantastic staff team of 3 look after your every need, including food shopping and preparing/serving meals. Both the steps to the first floor suite as well the swimming pool surround, have unprotected drops, so young children will have to be supervised. During the months of July and August the entire property must be rented together and can accommodate up to 18 people. During other months, the main house can be rented on its own for groups of up to 12 people.

Ground Floor
Entrance hall with cloakroom. Master bedroom suite (shower, separate WC, dressing room) with fire place and opening to garden. All open plan and at different levels – spacious sitting and drawing rooms, both with fireplaces and opening onto covered terrace and garden. Between the well equipped kitchen /laundry room and the very large dining room (with indoor barbecue and opening onto a covered dining terrace), there is also a service area with small dining table ideal for children’s meals. Three bedrooms with garden/courtyard entrance: double bunk room and 2 double bedrooms, each with a basin in the room, plus shower and separate WC.
First Floor
Double bedroom suite with shower, separate WC, walk-in wardrobe and private sun terrace. This suite has quite low ceilings so it’s unsuitable for tall guests.
Guest Cottage – 6 people
Situated next to the staff cottage, this has a sitting room with open fire place opening onto covered terrace; kitchen with breakfast bar, double bedroom with en-suite shower bathroom; twin/double and twin bedrooms sharing a shower bathroom.

Airport meet and greet on request at extra charge (clients must book car hire but extra luggage will fit in staff car). Resident couple plus extra maid to clean and maintain the property, food shop, prepare and serve 3 meals a day – they work 09:00 – 21:00 hours daily and each has one day off per week, taken on alternative days. Cost of food & beverages not included.
