Situated on 60 acres of land designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, this luxurious property provides the perfect hideaway. From its lakefront position on the shores of Lake Wanaka, it has stunning views over the lake on one side, and to the snow-capped peaks of the Buchanan mountain range on the other. The town of Wanaka is within easy reach (20 minutes) and Treble Cone ski area even closer (10 minutes). Within walking distance is the mouth of the Matukituki River offering superb trout fishing.
Central Otago as a region is one of the most popular destinations in New Zealand, offering both relaxation and a vast range of activities. These include wine tours, skiing, jet boating, bungy jumping, mountain biking and paragliding. Wanaka town is delightful with many bars, restaurants and boutiques, a golf course, cinema, fitness studios, day spas and a children’s playground. Situated on the edge of Mt Aspiring National Park, the property is also perfectly located for hiking. At the house you will find maps of the local area and information on all the region has to offer. Minimum stay here is 3 nights, although 2 night stays will be considered on request.
The house is built in a traditional style, using natural materials. The spacious open-plan living area opens to a full-length furnished veranda, with barbecue, and to the beautiful garden. The dining room features a double height ceiling, up to the rafters and the large open-plan kitchen is equipped to a high standard. The property offers complete privacy and plenty of parking space. The lawn stretches towards the lake - perfect for enjoying a glass of local Central Otago Pinot Noir and watching the sunset. On a snowy winter’s night, after a full day on the slopes, you can curl up with a book in front of the log fire. The living room is also equipped with Sky TV and DVD. In the summer; you can take a picnic down to one of the many private beaches and take a dip in the crystal clear waters of the lake.
