Situated in the ancient medina of Marrakech, just five minutes walk from the famous Place Jemaa el Fna, this lovely property was once the residence of the former Pasha of Marrakech. It has been refurbished to an extremely high standard, combining traditional Andalusian style with modern conveniences.
The entrance gates to the property open to a magnificent courtyard garden, filled with trees and vines, including two 100 year old cypresses and a huge bougainvillea. In the centre is a 13 metre swimming pool (Andalusian bassin), tiled with a mosaic carpet design, and the water flowing from a white Carrara marble fountain. Surrounding the courtyard are arched cloisters leading to furnished living areas, including a beautiful music/reception room and atmospheric dining room. The first floor bedrooms, all open to a covered loggia, also furnished, and overlooking the courtyard. On the roof, there are two terraces offering a unique view of the medina and the Atlas Mountains. Sheltered partially by wooden pergolas, they are furnished with tables, comfortable armchairs and teak sunloungers. It is a perfect spot for both breakfast or a candlelit dinner.
The Riyad has a resident Grand Diploma Cordon Bleu Chef, who will prepare Moroccan, French of Italian meals. Prices are inclusive of breakfast and lunch, and a gastronomic dinner can be arranged on request. Also included in the price are airport transfers, tea with home-made Moroccan pastries, all non-alcoholic beverages and maid service. The minimum rental period is 3 nights, and 7 nights over Easter or Christmas/New Year. All rooms have air conditioning and heating, telephone and satellite television.
