The Riyad el Arsa (The Garden Riyad) is situated in the heart of the Marrakech Medina. Recently renovated under the supervision of architect, Quentin Wilbaux, using traditional materials, it is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. Fine decoration, designer linen, 16th century arches, sun terraces and a Jacuzzi in the courtyard all add to the feeling of understated luxury and traditional Moroccan comfort which, together with its close proximity to Jemaa el Fna Square, makes this property a perfect base for a couple or a small group of friends.
The Riyad is built around a courtyard onto which all rooms and salons either open or overlook. On the ground floor, and opening directly to the courtyard, is the living room, finely decorated with warm reds, oranges and yellows, enriched by beautiful wood carvings. A winter living room offering a more intimate ambience, and one of the bedrooms, occupy the other sides of the courtyard. The other bedrooms, and a charming dining room, are on the first floor overlooking the courtyard. The dining room provides a magical spot for candlelit dinners, especially if the patio is also illuminated with candles.
The bedrooms are decorated in a traditional style in warm colours and the bathrooms have been decorated with Tadelakt, a traditional wall painting method consisting of polishing walls by hand several times to give them a cool marble-like surface. One of the bedrooms can be made up as either a double bed or twin beds. The roof terrace, furnished with sun loungers is perfect for relaxing in the sun.
