Located in the fashionable Laksour quarter of the Medina, this charming authentic riad has been beautifully restored and is literally minutes from the main Souks and the lively Jemma el Fna square. The house is built around a pleasant central courtyard and is full of character, with the atmosphere of a very hospitable and private home. Elegant furnishings, traditional Moroccan carpets and ceramics plus a library of the owner’s favourite books help set the scene for a restful stay.
The charming courtyard with a summer seating area on the ground floor is a wonderful place to relax with a book or a glass of wine and soak up the sun. Leading off from here is a separate dining room and the kitchen, where the maid prepares your breakfast and traditional Moroccan dinners (served on request). There are just two en suite double bedrooms in the riad, one situated on the ground floor, and the other four poster master bedroom is on the first floor overlooking the patio. In addition there is a small child’s bedroom (but without an en suite bathroom).
Steep stone steps lead up to riad’s roof terrace where guests can relax and enjoy some splendid views of the nearby Koutoubia Mosque. With its excellent central location, peaceful ambience and spacious, elegant accommodation, Riad Wasfi makes an ideal choice for two couples or a small family, looking for a comfortable traditional riad close to the main attractions of the Medina.
