The Palazzetta del Vescovo is charming and luxurious Relais, situated near the historical town of Todi, and benefitting from panoramic views over the beautiful Umbrian countryside. Dating from 1763 and originally the summer residence of Todi’s bishops, it has recently been carefully restored by the current owners over a period of two years. With great respect to original features, and using expert local artisans, it has been transformed into an exclusive luxury country house. The location is an ideal base for visiting Umbrian historical towns such as Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Todi, Gubbio, as well as hill towns in nearby Tuscany, such as Cortona and Siena. In the more immediate vicinity there also numerous treasures to be discovered, like Bevagna, Monte Castello di Vibio with the smallest theatre in the world and Montefalco homeland of the Sagrantino wine.
Set within two hectares of gardens, the house is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The infinity swimming pool sits in a wonderful position with spectacular views over the Tevere valley. Inside, the rooms bear evidence to the careful attention to detail, with warm colours, antique furniture, Montefalco fabrics and satin bed linens. Each of the 8 bedrooms in the main house is unique in style, furnished with antiques, yet offering most modern comforts; satellite TV, air conditioning, Internet broadband connection , direct telephone service and safe. All have panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The large en-suite bathrooms, are decorated with mosaics and precious marble and are equipped with luxurious cotton towels, bathrobes, make-up mirrors, slippers and hair dryers. In addition, there are 2 double bedrooms in a cottage in the grounds, also with en-suite bathrooms.
The welcoming owners are on hand to assist guests in discovering this unspoiled and enchanting part of Italy with its rich cultural and artistic heritage. Upon request, they are able to arrange personal guided visits to historic centres, visits to the most prestigious local wineries and olive oil mills, hiking and mountain bike rides with expert guides, cooking classes, massages, reflexology and iridology sessions, a personal trainer and booking service for concerts and other events.
