This beautiful, traditional Tuscan villa is situated on a hilltop, near Montespertoli, dominating the surrounding hills of the Chianti Fiorentino. At 3 kms is a small medieval hamlet with basic shops, and Fiano, 4 kms away, has further shops and facilities. Montespertoli, 8 kms away, offers a good selection of restaurants and shops, while Florence, 28 kms away, is easily accessible. There are public tennis courts within a short drive and the Ugolino Golf Club is about 15 minutes away by car. It is conveniently located for visiting the historic and artistic towns and cities of Tuscany such as Certaldo, San Gimignano, Vinci, Volterra and Lucca , all less than an hour’s drive.
The property is accessed by a good unsealed 800 metre driveway, leading to the entrance gate. Restored in 2008, the villa is built in stone in a Leopoldine style, complete with traditional tower. It is surrounded by one hectare of grounds, including well maintained lawns, large shady trees and some olive trees. On a raised part of the garden is a 4 x 10 metre infinity swimming pool with surrounding terrace, with beautiful views over the countryside of olive groves and vineyards. There are several furnished terraces around the villa, one with a hot tub, on the side facing the swimming pool. If guests want to use this, an additional refundable damages’ deposit of €500 is required.
The interiors are elegant and tastefully furnished with Italian designer furniture. The materials used are of the highest quality with a predominance of black and white. From the entrance hall, there is a door to a very spacious open-plan space, with three beautiful vaulted brick ceilings, separating a living room, a formal dining room and a well equipped kitchen. The living room opens through glass doors to a comfortably furnished terrace. The kitchen also opens to a covered terraced with a built-in sitting area with large comfortable cushions along two walls, and a dining area with portable barbecue. There is another spacious living room and a kitchenette on the first floor. Both living rooms are equipped with satellite TV, DVD, telephone and internet connection. The bedrooms all have safes and wi-fi internet connection. The three bathrooms are spacious, finished in travertine marble and all have both large showers and designer retro bathtubs in cast iron with lion’s feet. Hair dryers are provided in each bathroom. Air conditioning is included in the price, but gas central heating is charged extra (€50 per day).
