There are many interesting places to visit within easy reach of the property, including the nearby villages of Bagni di Lucca, Barga, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and Collodi. A little further will bring you to the coast and Forte dei Marmi, within a 50 minute drive, and the Garfagnana area, offering fabulous walks, about one hour away. Florence and the Cinque Terre both reachable in under an hour and a half.
The large grounds surrounding the villa are filled with trees, including olive, pear, apple and fig trees, while beyond stretch terraces of olive groves and woodland. On a lower level within the garden is a swimming pool (10 x 6m) fed by its own natural spring water, and also offering wonderful views over the valley. There are several covered and uncovered terraces furnished for dining and relaxing outdoors. A terrace of original terracotta tiles extends along the southern façade of the house, with lemon trees in traditional pots, and an outdoor dining area with a gas barbecue.
Accommodation is in the main villa and a 3-bedroom guest cottage, about 30 metres away. The 18th century villa has been restored authentically, retaining the original features, including high ceilings, original terracotta floor tiles, fireplaces and large double doors.
