This very spacious and traditional villa is located in a spectacular rural setting near the village of Compiobbi, Fiesole, just 11 kms to the east of Florence. It is a particularly beautiful part of Tuscany with so much to see and do within an easy drive of the property. It is just a 10 minute drive to the Firenze Sud exit of the A1 motorway, and the centre of Florence can be reached within 20 minutes. The Chianti towns and villages are also within an easy drive, and facilities for tennis and golf are also close by, as are a number of excellent restaurants, cafes and bars.
Set within grounds of 3 acres, the property is accessed by a beautiful, winding country road, then through a remote control gate and up an ancient cypress lined driveway. There are wonderful views over the undulating countryside and the surrounding vineyards, olive and fruit trees, landscaped with many varieties of flowers and herbs. There are three outdoor terraces, furnished for sitting and relaxing and enjoying the views, or dining outdoors. The first, at the entrance to the house, has a sitting area and panoramic views, the second is a large pergola in the rear garden with a sitting and dining area with barbecue, and the third is by the large swimming pool (16 x 5m) with sitting area and covered outdoor dining area, furnished with teak table and chairs, and again offering wonderful views.
The interiors have been restored with much attention to detail, retaining the original Tuscan character, but adding an international eclectic style. The rooms are furnished with antiques and some contemporary pieces. There are removable screens on most windows and individual room controlled central heating. The library/study is equipped with satellite television, DVD, CD player, phone, fax and internet access. There is air conditioning in all four bedrooms and three of them also have remote controlled ceiling fans. All five modern bathrooms are equipped with hairdryers, bathrobes and heated towel rails. Linen, towels and china are all of a high standard. This is a non-smoking property. On arrival, welcome drinks and canapes are served to guests by the pool, and a 3 course dinner is provided for up to 8 people, either on the arrival night or another day, served indoors or outdoors. The housekeeper will also cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, if required, at extra charge. Guided tours of the area, including half or full day trips to Florence, Siena, Montepulciano or Arezzo, can also be arranged.
