La Maccinaia is a stunning, large property located in a very quiet location, at the heart of the Chianti region, between Gaiole and Castelnuovo Berardenga. The main villa dates from the 17th century, and has been immaculately restored combining modern design with original Tuscan architecture.
The villa sits in a elevated position with beautiful countryside views, especially from its guest house terrace and the pool area. The swimming pool (12 x 6m) is in a lovely position, within the large, lawned grounds. There is also a very attractive covered veranda with outdoor dining area and barbecue.
The property is equipped to the highest of standards with modern comforts, including air-conditioning (not on the first floor), a large flat screen television with satellite channels, DVD player, stereo and wi-fi internet connection. The kitchen is particularly well equipped and the bedrooms are furnished with great taste, most with en-suite bathrooms. Just across from the main villa there is a guest house built of stone which can sleep up to 6 people. This part of the property is of more recent construction, but maintains the same high level of the main villa. The English speaking caretaker lives on the premises in an apartment with a separate entrance.
