Perched on top of a hill between Lucca and the Camaiore coast, this property offers lovely views over vineyards, olive groves and chestnut woods. It is 15 kilometres from the walled city of Lucca and 28 kilometres from the beaches at Camaiore.
The house, built at the beginning of the 1900s, has higher ceilings and larger windows than classical farmhouses and still maintains some of the features of its origins as the local “bottega” (general store). It is a particularly bright house with two separate living areas, a living room/library on the ground floor, and a large kitchen/dining/ living room on the lower ground floor with direct access to a tterrace facing the valley and furnished for al fresco dining. The swimming pool (12 x 4) is located in a panoramic position within the grounds, overlooking the valley.
The owners have restored the interiors sympathetically, preserving the original terracotta floors and beamed ceilings and adding many modern comforts. They have also furnished the house with personal pieces reflecting their international background, in particular with many pieces collected during their stay in Africa.
