La Fontanella is a restored stone farmhouse, surrounded by spacious grounds and situated in the heart of the Chianti wine producing area, close to the towns of Radda in Chianti and Castellina in Chianti. From the property there are lovely views over the surrounding countryside of vineyards and trees. The property is reached by its own access road and there is a covered parking area.
Within the garden is a swimming pool (14 x 6 m) with a large furnished sun terrace. On the pool side of the house is a newly built covered terrace with outdoor dining area. Another uncovered dining area with barbecue and lovely views is situated a bit further from the house to one side.
The house has been restored with great care to detail and features such as wood beamed ceilings, cotto floors and exposed stone walls with arches have been retained. There are several ground floor entrances to the house, all with secure wrought iron doors with glass panels, allowing for natural light. The rooms are very comfortably furnished throughout and the kitchen is particularly light and spacious, with an enormous wooden dining table in the middle. Except for one double bedroom upstairs, all bedrooms can be made up as doubles or twins. Amenities include satellite television, stereo with cd player, ADSL, alarm system, baby cot and telephone (with phone plug in almost every room). Central heating is charged extra.
