This elegant, independent house is situated in the grounds of a larger villa, 12 metres away, which is occupied all year round by the owners. It is located on the outskirts of the city of Prato, in a quiet residential area. Prato has a wonderful city centre and offers much of artistic and architectural interest, not to mention the famous Biscottini di Prato, made by the Mattei bakery, delicious to dip into Vin Santo wine. There is a regular bus service to Prato not far from the house. Florence is just 25 kilometres away.
The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden with lawns, flowers, trees, a gazebo and a jacuzzi whirlpool tub, at the rear of the house, exclusively for use by guests. On the villa side of the garden is a road, which does not get much traffic and is hidden by tall cypress trees. La Capretta, on the other side of the garden, faces the countryside and is very quiet and tranquil. Access to the property is by electronic gate, and there is parking within the grounds.
The accommodation is all on one floor and there are several entrances from the surrounding paved terraces. The main entrance is on the other side of the house from the villa, where there is a furnished terrace, with barbecue, overlooking a small stream. Designed by a famous Florentine architect, the interiors are very comfortable and tasteful, with traditional cotto floors and wood beamed ceilings, and furnished with many antiques. Amenities include both air conditioning and central heating (payable on consumption), satellite television and mosquito screens on the bedroom windows. The owners have requested no children under the age of 15 years.
