Al Mennucci was originally an old hayloft which has recently been imaginatively converted into a delightful cottage. It is situated in a superb position, high in the hills, 15 kms to the south-east of Lucca, and surrounded by olive groves and pine trees. There are wonderful views over the countryside and the plain of Montecatini in the distance. Just 9 kms from the nearest motorway exit, it is also an ideal base for exploring the main Tuscan towns.
Both the house and the pretty garden are exceptionally well maintained by the owners, and the interiors are equipped with all modern facilities. The swimming pool (9 x 4.5m), situated to one side of the house, is in a perfect position to enjoy the beautiful views. Close to the pool area, there is an outdoor dining area with stone-built barbecue and pizza oven, and an outdoor shower.
Near the driveway, about 20 metres from the house, there is a guest house with a double bedroom and bathroom, for two additional guests. This property is perfect for those looking for peace and tranquillity. The one kilometre unsealed road is not suitable for very low slung sports cars.
