This charming house is located in historic Palermo, next to the Norman Palace in Corso Calatafimi, the road leading to the famous cathedral in Monreale. It has a courtyard garden which backs onto one of the oldest monuments in Palermo, the Cuba Castle, built in 1180 by William II as a summer residence. In the 16th century, the castle was turned into a hospital, then a barracks in the 18th century, then was closed up to the 20th century. It has recently been restored and open to visitors.
The shady courtyard garden is filled with citrus trees and other plants, and there is a covered outdoor dining area outside the house. On the first floor of the house, the living room and one of the bedrooms, also open to a terrace with a canopy covered outdoor dining area.
The rooms are decorated in warm terracottas and yellows, with brick tiled floors and beamed ceilings, and furnished tastefully. There is air conditioning in both bedrooms, central heating, TV, stereo and internet access. A 3 night minimum stay is available at this property.
