Situated about 60 kms to the west of Palermo, this newly renovated property is set in large grounds of olive groves, which gently slope down to the edge of the coast. It offers a wonderful, quiet location, access to the sea, and great sea views for a large group of family or friends. A short walk from the property is a small market, for purchasing food and, a short drive away, a local farm selling fresh vegetables and fruit. About 1 km away, is the tiny medieval village of Scopello, with a selection of restaurants, trattorie, and ceramic shops. Local delicacies which can be enjoyed here include gelato and the typical ‘pane cunsato’ (bread with olive oil, salt and herbs). Nature lovers will enjoy walking along the paths of the Zingaro Nature Reserve, which stretches along the coast from Scopello to San Vito lo Capo. Near the villa, there is also mini-golf and a horse riding school. Other nearby sights worth a visit include the town of Castellammare del Golfo and the Greek ruins of Segesta.
A path leads down through the grounds to the coast, where there are steps leading down to the rocks below, where it is possible to swim. Platforms are set up on the rocks during the summer months, so sunloungers can be set up here. A large terrace stretches right along the front of the house, with covered and uncovered areas for dining and relaxing outdoors. There is also a built-in barbecue.
The accommodation is made up of two apartments which can be linked together, by a door on the first floor. During high season, the property should be rented as one, but in other seasons, it can be rented as two separate apartments. The rooms are spacious and furnished and equipped to a high standard. The rooms have traditional terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings and the walls are painted in a warm yellow washed effect. The kitchens and bathrooms are all brand new. Amenities include satellite TV, DVD, playstation, stereo, and central heating for rentals during the cooler months. There is also a fitness room on a lower level, accessed by stairs from the terrace. Due to its location, internet connection is not possible at this property at the moment.
