The village of Monterosso is one of the most renowned of the Cinque Terre and is easily reached by train or by car. From Monterosso, there are beautiful hiking trails to Vernazza and Levanto, passing through olive groves and vineyards on hillsides which drop straight down to the sea. The area is a paradise for lovers of nature, with its unique man-made terraced vineyards dating back at least a century.
Our property here is a former hunting lodge, built at the end of the 19th century, and situated on a hill just above the village of Monterosso. There are outstanding views from either side of the property: the eastern side looks out on the Cinque Terre as far as the island of Timo, and the western side has a view of Punta Mesco jutting out into the sea.
The villa is part of a 5000 square metre estate which extends down the two sides of the hill, cultivated with vineyards, lemon groves and a vegetable garden. The old town of Monterosso is just a 10 minute walk away by a footpath which goes past a Capuchin convent. A shorter path leads from the house down to the sea.
