This villa dates back to the early 1900’s and has had several well known owners, including a famous Italian filmstar. It sits in a fabulous position with views over the sea, just 10 minutes walk from the main square in Anacapri, near shops and the famous Blue Grotto. It is in a characteristic area of the town known as Le Boffe, with many ancient little houses and charming squares.
The property is on four levels, on a hillside, and surrounded by a wonderful garden filled with Mediterranean trees and flowering plants and vines. The warm pink colour of the villa, its columns, large windows and arches are all tpical of the local architecture, found throughout the island. Steps lead down from the entrance level to the main covered terrace with a comfortable outdoor sitting and dining area and with views over the pool and garden to the sea. Steps lead down from here to the garden and to the pool area. The swimming pool (8 x 5m) is set on a garden terrace in a secluded position from where the wonderfully unobstructed views over the green island slopes and the sea can be enjoyed. On the same level, there are seating and dining areas, and a barbecue. Steps lead down On the lowest level there is a car parking area, and although rental cars are not allowed on Capri, the owner has a car available for guests.
The interiors are very spacious with traditional white walls, tiled floors and archways. The rooms are beautifully decorated in Mediterranean style, some with ‘trompe l’oeil’ effect, and furnished with antiques. Both the living room and master bedroom have libraries. The two bedrooms on the lower level are accessed from a large bougainvillea-clad terrace. Amenities include telephone, satellite TV, stereo, central heating, air conditioning and internet connection. Breakfast each morning is included in the price.
