This amazing, luxurious villa is situated within one of the largest olive groves along the peninsula of Sorrento. Featured in Architectural Digest, it has been designed so that every suite, terrace and the large infinity pool all have incredible views. Built during the 1950’s, it is modern in style, on two floors, and surrounded by a garden with palm and olive trees and flowers. It is located about a five minute drive from the central square in the small hamlet of Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, high amidst the green slopes between the Gulf of Salerno and the gulf of Naples, directly facing the island of Capri. Sant’Agata is well known for its mild climate and the beauty of its wild natural landscape. The village also boasts one of the world’s most exclusive Italian restaurants, Don Alfonso 1890 (2 Michelin stars).
At the front of the villa is a fabulous terrace facing the sea and, at night, guests can enjoy the thousands of lights that light up the entire Gulf of Naples. The swimming pool (10 metres long) is set on a large terracotta and blue ceramic tile terrace, planted with Mediterranean flowers and shrubs in large terracotta pots. The pool has a separate area for children with shallow water as well as a Jacuzzi and two outdoor showers. The terrace and pool area are furnished with good quality outdoor furniture. One flight of steps leads from the garden and pool up to the main level of the villa.
The main floor of the villa has a huge living and dining room with large glass doors opening to balconies and the terrace. The floor is entirely tiled with colourful hand-painted tiles and the accommodation is very spacious. Amenities include flat screen satellite TV, DVD, VCR, audio system throughout the living and dining area and a computer with internet connection. The first floor and basement levels are accessible either by stairs of a lift. The bedrooms are all stylishly furnished with a small sitting area, air conditioning, TV, mini-fridge, telephone and safe. All the luxurious en-suite bathrooms have Jacuzzi bathtub/shower. There are also spacious terraces with views over the garden or pool area. Il Villaggio is a perfect place for a relaxing holiday, or as a spectacular setting for wedding or other celebration. The grounds are enclosed and entrance is by electronic gate to a private parking area.
