Where better to enjoy the idyllically beautiful landscapes, historically fascinating towns and authentically charming restaurants to be found in Tuscany and Umbria than from our selection of beautiful villas and farmhouses.
Most are situated in Tuscany, right in the heart of the Chianti wine growing area, near evocatively named towns, such as Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Colle Val d’Elsa, all within easy access of Florence and Siena. There are also properties in the contrasting countryside of the Crete Senesi to the south of Siena, near Montepulciano and Montalcino, also renowned for their fine olive oils and wines. Several of the houses are on working agricultural estates where local produce can be sampled first hand. In Umbria, we feature a spacious village house in the beautiful town of Spoleto, renowned for its annual music festival, and also a magnificent farmhouse near Todi.
Originally ancient farmhouses, the properties have been sympathetically restored, retaining the spacious rooms, terracotta tiled floors, exposed wood beamed ceilings and large open fireplaces, but adding modern kitchens, bathrooms, satellite television and large swimming pools, enabling guests to enjoy the best of both worlds. At most, maid service is included or can be arranged, and at several the services of a cook.
There is a large choice of travel options, with both scheduled and charter flights from many U.K. airports to Pisa, Florence, Bologna and Rome.
The island of Capri has been renowned as a holiday spot ever since Roman times when it was famously the former home of the Emperor Tiberius. Now the charming town, with its white-washed buildings, narrow streets and moulded arches and domes, is filled with holidaymakers and day trippers throughout the summer months, and the lively bars and outdoor cafes in the picturesque La Piazzetta have the atmosphere of an open-air party. Capri is reached by flight to Naples, and then by boat or hydrofoil, both of which operate regularly throughout the day. Upon arrival in Capri, you can travel up to the town by taxi or by funicular railway.
For lovers of the Amalfi coast, we are offering some wonderful villas here, some right on the waterfront with spectacular sea views.
