Pyrgos White is a beautifully renovated old winery transformed by the owners, a Master of Wine and a Volcanologist. Wanting to create a summer holiday home, far from their London lifestyle, they enlisted a well known local architect to realize their dream. The result is a peaceful, zen-like, tasteful retreat, which respects the local architecture. The beautiful white-washed village of Pyrgos is one of the prettiest places on the island, built around the remains of the Venetian Castle, in a charming mixture of winding lanes and churches with distinctive blue domes. From the villa there are incredible views overlooking the caldera. The villa is a perfect fusion of indoor and outdoor living with the rooms opening to terraces. There are four terraces in total with a heated jacuzzi in the upper courtyard. The accommodation is on two levels, painted white throughout, and complemented by woven rugs, hand painted scatter cushions and local earthenware. The lower level offers a great lounging area and the dining room and kitchen are on the upper level. There are four air conditioned double bedrooms, two of which have independent access directly from the courtyard. All bedrooms have lovely en-suite bathrooms with curved walls. Amenities include plasma screen satellite TV, DVD, Bose CD player and high speed internet access. Included in the rental price is a 5-seater manual car rental and an welcome food hamper. Other services available on request include transfers from and to the airport/port and a private chef. Minimum stay here is 3 nights.
