The village of Imerovigli, perched more than 300 metres above the Aegean Sea – is widely recognised as the most exclusive location on Santorini and a favourite among seasoned travellers. Sheltered from the bustling crowds elsewhere on the island, Imerovigli captures the essence of what Santorini is all about – serenity, tranquillity and a magical panorama.

This sumptuous, luxury villa has been meticulously refurbished by its architect owner to create a synthesis of functionality, clean lines and sophisticated comfort with respect for its original and spectacular architecture. The house is characterized by the abundant Aegean light pouring in through its numerous French doors and large bay windows creating an ethereal atmosphere throughout. The openings form a spatial and visual connection between the interior and exterior and allow sea views from almost all rooms. The materials, furnishings and appliances of the house have been carefully chosen and designed. The decoration relies on subtle differences in natural texture – sand stone, blond oak, woven sisal and white linen. Amenities include plasma screen satellite TV, DVD, CD player, high-speed internet access, al fresco dining, washing machine, ironing facilities, linen and beach towels.

The core of the villa is composed by the spacious and stylish living and dining room area. The living room with its imposing cross-vaulted ceiling has been furnished in a contemporary and minimalist manner in order to create absolute comfort whereas the focus of the dining room is the unique and seemingly endless oak table equally suited to dining, leisure and work. A sculptural wooden staircase leads to the en-suite bedroom on the upper floor. This bedroom has a private balcony with stunning views of the Aegean Sea and connects the suite to the outdoor terraces. There is one double bedroom on the ground floor with sea view and a separate bathroom, and in the wing of the house there is a twin bedroom (perfect for children) which also has its own bathroom. The design and materials of the bathrooms express purity and consistency with sand stone, polished cement and exclusive fittings as the predominant elements. The kitchen is situated in the wing of the house with views both to the garden and the sea. It combines simplicity of form with maximum functionality and is connected to the intimate breakfast lounge with direct access to the courtyard. The materials of the kitchen are exclusively in stainless steel and traditional hand-polished cement. The south facing private courtyard with its olive trees and bougainvilleas encircling the inviting swimming pool provides ample opportunities for both relaxing by the pool and entertaining by the generous and sun-sheltered garden table. From the courtyard, stone steps lead to the roof terraces with their lounge areas offering surreal 360 degree views of the island and the surrounding Cycladic archipelago. During the day this provides an enviable spot for sunbathing and at sunset an ideal venue for the aperitivo hour - before hitting the local night scene. Malteza House sleeps 6 people and the minimum stay is 5 nights. The house has a non-smoking and non-pet policy.
