The town of Oia with its picturesque Cycladic houses clinging vertiginously to the cliffside is situated in the north of the island, with spectacular views over the Caldera and the Aegean Sea. Gina’s House is in a particularly lovely location, perched on top of the cliff, about 10 minutes walk from the town and with panoramic views of the sea and volcanic islands. At the front of the house, a lovely veranda with pergola covered dining area facing the sea, is the perfect place to sit for meals or a glass of local wine while enjoying the magnificent sunsets. There is also a terrace to one side with a private pool right on the edge facing the sea, and with teak sunloungers for relaxing in the sun. From this terrace there are views both over the Caldera to the front and right over the island to the sea on the other side to the back.
The house is one of four similar houses, in a row, and sharing a parking area to the rear. Newly constructed in typical white-washed Cycladic style, with blue doors and shutters, the colour scheme is continued in the charming interiors. The rooms are simply, yet tastefully furnished and the many amenities include telephone, satellite television, stereo air conditioning on the ground floor and ceiling fans in the bedrooms downstairs.
This property is unique for its truly wonderful location and would be perfect for one or two couples looking for an idyllic base to relax in the sun, or explore this fascinating island. Nearby activities include hiking, horseback riding, sailing, snorkelling and windsurfing. The property also has use of a helipad.
