Dramatically situated 300 metres above the sea on the edge of a cliff, in the peaceful village of Imerovigli, this beautifully restored ‘canava’ (wine cellar) has uninterrupted views of the Caldera. Imerovigli is the highest point on the island and its castle, Skaros, dating from 1207, is well worth a visit. From Imerovigli, there is an old footpath to the capital of the island, Fira, a 20 minute walk offering amazing views. The picturesque village also offers plenty of restaurants and traditional tavernas. A short walk down from the central parking area in the village square will lead you to the entrance of the property.
The accommodation consists of two separate units, each for two people, but is rented as a whole. It is ideally suited for two couples wanting to holiday together, yet retain some independence. The two living areas are joined together by exterior stairs. Each of the units also has its own delightful furnished shaded terrace, wonderful for relaxing while enjoying the idyllic surroundings and views. The villa has a Mediterranean fell and is classified as a traditional Santorini 'yposkafa' dwelling. Guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Caldera, Nea Kameni, Thirasia, Akrotiri and Skaros from either one of the terraces.
The interiors have been renovated with stylish simplicity, retaining the smooth-edged architectural features of the original building, and decorated and furnished almost entirely in white. Amenities include air conditioning, satellite TV, DVD and I-pod. Minimum stay is 3 nights. Transfers from/to Santorini port or airport, as well as a rental car are included in the rental.
