Aphrodite Hills is an award-winning, luxury sports and leisure resort situated between Paphos and Limassol, 300m above sea level and overlooking the very area where Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, is said to have emerged from the waves. Set in a 578-acre estate, the resort is arranged in five villages named after Greek gods, and incorporates a five-star InterContinental hotel. It includes an 18-hole championship golf course lined with olive and carob trees, competition-standard tennis courts with a tennis academy, horse-riding, a state-of-the-art Greco-Roman spa, fitness facilities, nature and bike trails, and a variety of bars and restaurants. Two private beach clubs have been set up on the coast, a few minutes’ drive from the resort. Excursions can reach Paphos, Limassol (Lemessos), Larnaka, the wilderness of the Akamas Peninsula, and the painted churches of the Troodos Mountains. Aphrodite Hills prizes itself on its atmosphere of privacy and tranquillity, but its range of accommodation and breadth of facilities also makes it an ideal destination for families, and for groups celebrating a special occasion.
The resort offers a number of Superior and Elite self-catering villas spread throughout the resort, with between two and five double bedrooms, and each with private gardens and a private pool. All are light, bright, modern and air-conditioned, but are modelled on traditional Cypriot architecture. They are individually styled, with a range of views (sea, golf course, hills), and a variety of ground plans, landscaping and pool shapes. Some are situated within walking distance of the Village Square – the heart of the Aphrodite Hills resort – but the majority are located on the eastern plateau, where car-rental is recommended for the five-minute drive to the centre. In addition there are smaller, Junior villas with two or three double bedrooms and private gardens. Some of these are 'town houses' and share communal pools in the village where they are located; some are semi-detached and have private pools. There are also apartments with one, two or three double bedrooms, with access to shared pools. All properties have air-conditioning. Four of the villages (Adonis, Zephyrus, Theseus and Helios Heights) are situated within walking distance of the Village Square; the exception is Orpheus Village (car-rental is recommended). Guests can enjoy all of the facilities offered by the resort, although extra charges may apply. These include golf membership, access to the spa, tennis lessons, yoga classes, private cruises, mini-golf, children’s clubs, car-rental, cooking services, cot-rental and baby-sitting. They can also make use of the restaurants in the Village Square, and those who want to minimize self-catering can pre-book half-board accommodation, with a 50% discount for children.
Set amongst its very own private landscaped gardens, Villa Aphrodite lies nestled on the eastern plateau of Aphrodite Hills Resort. It is surrounded by large landscaped gardens, with a decorative water feature and a 10 x 5m swimming pool. A covered area outside the kitchen has a barbecue and is furnished for outdoor dining. The accommodation comprises four large bedrooms and is decorated throughout with a neo-classical theme.
