This exceptional property is situated high above the port of Hydra overlooking the picturesque harbour and the sea. Access is via a steep climb up many steps (luggage can be transported by donkey), but upon arrival you are rewarded with a magnificent view, which must rate as one of the best on Hydra.
The accommodation is on three floors, with the lowest floor opening to a lovely terrace with swimming pool (6 x 4m) surrounded by pots of geraniums, oleanders, honeysuckle, bougainvillea and plumbago, outdoor dining and sitting areas. At the middle level, the main living room opens to a superb, partly covered terrace, with spacious outdoor dining and sitting areas, a perfect place to relax at any time of day while enjoying the magnificent views. At night it is particularly magical with the lights in the town and harbour below. At the top level, both bedrooms open to a large terrace, again with spectacular views.
The interiors are very light and spacious, decorated and furnished very tastefully by the interior designer owner. The top two floors are actually the owner’s own apartment and the rooms are furnished with beautiful antiques and paintings. The main ground floor has white marble flooring, and the first floor has polished wooden floors, decorated wooden ceilinggs and panelled walls. The lowest floor (Star View Apartment) can be rented separately for six people and is furnished in a more ethnic style. A connecting door links the two apartments when the whole house is rented together. The owner's apartment is available to rent separately for groups of 2 or 4 adults, but both apartments are not available for rent to different groups at the same time, so privacy and exclusive use of the swimming are assured. Amenities include central heating in the cooler months, TV, DVD and radio cassette player. Air conditioning is not usually required, but there are three mobile fans, if it is exceptionally hot.

Main (middle) Level
Entrance from here into hallway, leading to large open-plan living/dining room, easily accommodating 10 – 12 people. This room benefits from a working fireplace, double glazed windows and doors and the most exquisite views. This room opens to the large terrace with seating and dining areas. On the other side of the hall is a cosy, smaller sitting room with TV, DVD, radio and cassette player. This room also opens to the terrace. Off the dining area is a well equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, and fridge/freezer) and a pantry with a second fridge. It also has a small dining area for 6 people, and opens to a back yard, facing the old medieval part of the town.
Top Level
2 double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom, and opening to a large terrace overlooking the island.
Lower Ground Floor Apartment
Can be accessed from the upstairs apartment or independently, if rented separately. Entrance hall. Guest WC and shower room. Laundry room. Kitchen with oven, microwave and fridge/freezer, opening to a‘Taverna’ living area, with built-in sofas (can be made up as beds), a bar (with small fridge) and a dining area, with barbecue. This room opens to the terrace with swimming pool. Bedroom with two built-in sofa-beds and en-suite shower room and WC. 2 twin bedrooms (can be made up as double beds). Separate bathroom. All these bedrooms have views over the town and harbour.
