This very pretty property is situated in the village of Xghara in the north-east of the island, close to the famous Ggantija Temples, the oldest freestanding structures in the world, and the legendary cave of Calypso where legend has it that Ulysses spent 7 years. The village is delightful with life focused around its central piazza with its impressive church and various cafes and restaurants. Just off the main square, it is also possible to visit two small stalagmitic caves.
Zifna is accessed by a charming courtyard entrance with swimming pool (32 sq.m), barbecue and pots of palm trees and flowering vines, sun loungers and sun umbrella. The terrace extends around to the side of the house where there is a shaded dining area, perfect for ‘al fresco’ meals.
Inside, traditional features include original patterned floor tiles, high ceilings with large stone arches or beamed ceilings, and thick stone walls, keeping the house cool during the summer months. The living areas are spacious and the rooms are furnished with attractive old pine furniture. Amenities include a television, baby cot, mosquito netting on the windows and ceiling fans in all rooms.
