PONDEROSA

This traditional farmhouse is set on the outskirts of the village of Gharb. Gharb means ‘west’ and this typical old Gozitan village, dating back centuries, is situated in the west of the Island. You can see its ancient roots in the centre of the village where some houses have fine example of decorated stone balconies. The village square has a large church, a folklore museum a grocer’s and a football bar which serves light meals and pizzas. There is another restaurant, Savina, to the right of church approximately 5 minutes walk away.

Entrance is via a wrought iron gateway to a paved terrace with many plants and a seating area. There is also a swimming pool, sun loungers and a dining area with stone barbecue. The house can also be accessed from the street through the main pine door.

The house has many original features with its exposed stone walls, traditional stone staircase, ceiling beams and heavily arched ceilings in the living room. Amenities include cable TV and DVD player.

Ground Floor
A large entrance hall leads down some steps to the sitting room with fireplace. Up four steps from here is the kitchen with pine table, chairs and stone built units, with oven and a large fridge/freezer. A door opens from the kitchen to the pool area.. Shower room with WC and basin. A room with wrought-iron sofa bed, which converts into a double bed

First Floor
Separate wash room with washing machine, iron and board. Large bedroom with 3 single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers, side tables, and a door opening to a small iron balcony overlooking the pool/ area. Next door is the master bedroom with king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and an en suite bathroom, with Jacuzzi bath, WC and basin, and also overlooking the pool area. Bathroom with bath, WC and basin. Twin bedroom with wardrobe, chest of drawers and view over the street.

Maid service included twice a week, and once a week pool maintenance. On request, at extra cost, a chef, babysitter and hairdresser can be arranged.
