Fara is a lovely 3 bedroom house situated in the village of Xghara in the north-east of the island, close to the famous Ggantija Temples, the oldest freestanding structures in the world, and the legendary cave of Calypso where legend has it that Ulysses spent 7 years. The village is delightful with life focused around its central piazza with its impressive church and various cafes and restaurants. Just off the main square, it is also possible to visit two small stalagmitic caves.
Entrance to the property is into a courtyard with stone arches and filled with plants, including palm trees, oleander, hibiscus and jasmine. There is a large L-shaped pool (64 sq. m.) with a Jacuzzi at one end, surrounded by a terrace furnished with sun loungers and sun umbrella. A canopy provides shade for a delightful outdoor dining area and there is a built-in barbecue.
The interiors have been very sympathetically renovated, retaining original features such as the patterned tiled floors, stone vaulted arched ceilings and exposed stone walls. Amenities include a television, a baby cot, ceiling fans and mosquito nets on the windows.
