This is a substantial Mas just a few kilometres from the charming town of L’Isle sur la Sorgue. A town famous for its silk mills in the Middle Ages and now popular for its huge Sunday Antique market. Antiques and curios are now one of the main activities in the town with over 300 outlets, many of which have been opened in the old warehouses and workshops by the river. The neighbouring town of Coustellet has a large fresh produce market on Sunday mornings too. The historic towns of Goult, Gordes, Roussillon and Bonnieux are all within a twenty-minute radius of the property and the city of Avignon is 40 minutes away. The Cotes du Rhone vineyards are close by as well, with Chateauneuf du Pape less than 45 minutes as well.
The property has recently been restored to a very high standard, and has been tastefully decorated furnished by a leading Scottish interior designer. The living rooms face onto a large outdoor eating area shaded by two large plane trees. There is also a covered area with a day bed. The house is very peaceful and sits in two acres of land surrounded by gates and fences. Electric gates control access to the property and the driveway is lined by lavender & cypress. The upstairs bedrooms either face onto the garden or the orchards to the rear of the house. There is a swimming pool (10x4) to the East of the house surrounded by a deck with pergolas and sun loungers. There is also a summer kitchen and a BBQ outside.
The entrance leads into a large fully equipped kitchen and dining area. A large sitting room with a fireplace has doors to the garden and outdoor eating area. Also on the ground floor is a study with office facilities, a cloakroom and a utility room with washing machine and dryer.
The accommodation is in the main house and in the Mazet (small independent house) situated at the front of the house.
Amenities include satellite TV, DVD, CD machine, safe, fax and wi-fi internet access.
