This lovely property is part of a very tastefully and imaginatively restored hamlet set in the Luberon countryside, about 5 minutes drive away from the hilltop village of Gordes. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful and popular area of Provence. Local attractions include other nearby Luberon villages, such as Menerbes and Lacoste, the antique market at Isle sur la Sorgue, kayaking on the River Sorgue and visits to the Côtes du Rhône vineyards.
The hamlet is divided into four separate buildings, one of which is occupied by the owner. Entrance is through an archway into a large courtyard, and the three bedroom farmhouse is on the right hand side. On the first floor is a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Also on this floor is a spacious shower room with WC, shared by a further double and twin bedroom. The main living area (with air conditioning) is located on the bright and airy second floor, thus taking advantage of the exquisite views of the surrounding villages and countryside. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped and there is a dining table and chairs to accommodate 8 people comfortably. The charming sitting area opens to a sun drenched, very private terrace, perfect for 'al fresco' dining, sunbathing and admiring the stunning views of the Luberon and Alpilles hills. Newly decorated and furnished throughout the interiors are absolutely charming, with exposed stone work, tiled floors and painted in soothing, neutral colours throughout. There is wireless internet connection, as well as satellite television, DVD player and radio.
Opposite the farmhouse is a delightful cottage on two floors and comprising a twin bedroom, shower room, living room and kitchenette. Rented with the farmhouse, this is available for larger groups of 8 people. Clients have access to the swimming pool, and also a tennis court (not in pristine condition, but perfectly good enough for the odd tennis match). Films for adults and children can be borrowed from the owner’s library. You will be provided with guide books and maps of the area on arrival, and receive a welcome pack with essentials such as milk, butter, bread, tea and coffee. Hairdryers are provided in the bedrooms and a cot is available on request.
