This magnificent 17th century chateau, originally belonging to Cardinal Jerome de Grimaldi who held court here from 1655 to 1685, is situated in its own park-like grounds on the outskirts of the small town of Puyricard, only 4 miles (7 kms) north of Aix en Provence. The 12 acre grounds consist of formal gardens with statues, lawns, fountains, a 15th century tower and the ruins of the Cardinal’s Palace.
The extensive gardens and spacious terraces, with beautiful views of Mt. Saint Victoire and the nearby villages, are perfect for outdoor entertaining and functions, and the 1800 square ft. Cardinal’s chapel, is an ideal location for weddings, dinner parties and concerts. A tennis court and swimming pool (11 x 7 metres) were built in 1998 in the magnificent setting of the 17th century ruins of the Cardinal’s Palace, within the grounds.
