The Ile St. Louis is one of the most enchanting places to stay in Paris. With its village atmosphere, handsome 17th century architecture, narrow streets and magnificent views from its tree-lined quays, it remains delightfully unspoiled. Situated in the small, quiet street of Rue de Bretonvilliers, on the south side of the island, the building is accessed by an impressive front gate, leading to a private courtyard. Wooden stairs lead up to the freshly renovated apartment on the second floor. On entering the apartment, a long cream painted corridor with parquet floor and crystal chandelier leads to all the rooms, ending in the impressive living room, with high ceilings and windows on both sides, allowing for much natural light and views of the street on one side and the courtyard on the other. The room is further enhanced by heavy blue damask curtains, an elegant marble fireplace, an antique gilded mirror, candelabras and antique furniture. Further amenities include a double sofa-bed, cable television (with international channels), hi-fi stereo with CD player, telephone with answer machine, ADSL internet access and intercom entrance device. Pets are not allowed.
