Situated within a large private estate of over 2000 hectares of wild natural countryside between the mountains and the sea, La Maison de l’Ortolo is a beautifully renovated 16th-century 3-storey stone farmhouse and bergerie annexe, offering complete peace and privacy, right by the Ortolo inlet, with access to a private beach. The estate provides a rare and special environment where guests can immerse themselves in a genuinely authentic Corsica, far from the bustle of civilization. The house has been renovated with the utmost respect to Corsican tradition, combining tasteful simplicity with modern comforts. Thick walls ensure the rooms are cool in summer, the floors are chestnut and the bedrooms painted in soft ochre colours. Deep sofas and a large original fireplace add to the charm and comfort. The house is equipped with a Wi-Fi internet connection.
At the front of the house, facing the beach is a large decked terrace, leading to a swimming pool in a beautiful position with sea views. There is also an outdoor dining area near the pool with summer kitchen, with barbecue, gas cooker, dishwasher and coffee machine. There is also a spa area with hamman and sauna. The beach, just a few minutes walk away, is equipped with sun mattresses and umbrellas, and a bar.
Prices include a grocery delivery service, vegetables picked fresh from the vegetable garden, daily cleaning, and courses in aquagym, fitness and swimming (during the summer season). Extras available on request include massage, sea fishing, horseback riding, sea excursions and hunting. There are two restaurants on the estate.
