This beautiful, large Mas is situated on a hillside, with spectacular views across the plain below Grasse, right down to the Mediterranean Sea. The picturesque village of Valbonne, with buildings and arcades dating back to the 15th and 17th Centuries, and with a wonderful food and clothes’ market on Fridays, is just a 10 minute drive away. Mougins is a 15 minute drive and Grasse is a 10 minute drive. Depending on traffic, both Nice and Cannes are an approximately 25-30 minute drive. Other hilltop villages nearby include Opio, Chateauneuf, and the fortified medieval St Paul de Vence, with art galleries, and the famous Colombe d’Or restaurant. There are many golf courses nearby, such as Royal Mougins, Le Golf de la Grande Bastide and Opio-Valbonne. Also within five or ten minutes drive is the Vignal Tennis Club and for those who like horse-riding, Le Ranch.
Until 2005 the property was owned by members of the Dom Perignon family, but has recently been acquired by new owners and been renovated extensively throughout. It is approached by a long winding driveway to the front of the house, from where there are breathtaking countryside views. The house sits within 1.4 hectares of grounds which includes terraced olive groves with over 250 olive trees and orange trees. The property produces its own marmalade and olive oil. Within the garden, on a higher level from the main part of the house, is a large 15 metre salt water swimming pool, and beyond this is a large open, but shaded, area with comfortable seating where guests can relax out of the sun. This summer covered terrace has a dining area and a summer kitchen with American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and hob. The Pool House is attached to the main house, while just below and to the side of the main house, is the Olive Grove Apartment. During summer, the Pool House and the Olive Grove Apartment form part of the accommodation with the main house, but for the rest of the year, the rooms can be rented on a bed and breakfast basis (minimum stay 2 nights). There is also another apartment used by the Mas’s permanent full-time staff.
Entrance to the main house is into a large, light hallway with double volume ceilings. Both the spacious living room with open fireplace, and the dining room, open to a furnished terrace shaded by arches, a perfect place for relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of the day. The TV room, on the other side of the entrance hall, is equipped with wide screen TV and DVD player. There is also wi-fi internet connection. The huge state-of-the-art kitchen opens to a terrace with outdoor dining area. The main house bedrooms are all on the first floor.

Resident guardian. Housekeeper provided for general housework at the villa 12 hours a week. This does not include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, guests' washing and ironing etc. This service is available extra @ €15 per hour. The housekeeper is also available, at extra charge, for cooking simple meals or for a full dinner party. Menus are available on request. If a full service is required, with waiting staff etc., please give as much advance notice as possible. |
