This charming Basque house, dating from 1610, is situated in the bay St Jean de Luz, facing the water at the port of Socoa, 30 metres from the sea, and 100 metres from the Fort de Socoa. Several of the best restaurants in the area, are within a short walk of the house.
There are views across the bay to St Jean de Luz town, which offers an excellent choice of restaurants and food shops. It is about a 15 minute walk around to the centre of St Jean de Luz, or alternatively, there are regular buses and a boat service during the day.
The beach is just a two minute walk away and the many other activities on offer close at hand include sailing, boat hire and windsurfing. For small children, there are several playgrounds and a beach club. For golf enthusiasts, there are several golf courses to choose from very close by, including one at Ciboure and another at St Jean de Luz.
The house is filled with atmosphere, with its many original features retained, including heavily beamed ceilings, exposed timbered walls and a large fireplace in the living room. A sunny courtyard is furnished for dining outdoors.
