This beautiful property has been sympathetically converted from an old ruin into a luxurious country house. It is situated in Rusnjak, 1 km from the village of Brkac, and 3 kms from the medieval hilltop town of Motovun. It is on the ancient Roman road and old narrow-gauge railway (La Parenzana) which, a century ago, connected the coastal resort of Porec with the Italian port of Trieste. The area is famous for its excellent wine and truffles. There is a golf course and riding stables close by.
Full of character, the villa has been designed and built to the highest of standards and benefits from breathtaking views over the vineyards and green hills of mid-Istria. It is surrounded by over an acre of parkland and gardens, with more than 200 mature trees, including some ancient olive trees by the swimming pool. The pool (11 x 9m) has both a sun terrace and shady pavilion. There is also a large covered dining terrace with barbecue and bread/pizza oven, as well as an antique 16th century stone sink.
The interiors are spacious and have been decorated and furnished in a tasteful, traditional style. There is one bedroom at ground floor level and the other two bedrooms are on the first floor, accessed by a curved staircase within a stone tower. All the bedrooms open to private outdoor spaces. Amenities include TV, DVD, CD player and under-floor heating.
