This idyllic hideaway is situated on the south-west side of the island of Brac, a five minute drive from the pretty harbour village of Milna. Set on a private, secluded pine tree covered peninsula, with the Adriatic sea on three sides, there are panoramic 180 degree views of the sea, sunsets and glimpses of the islands of Hvar and Vis beyond. The property is perfectly placed for guests to enjoy the many activities available nearby, which include sailing, diving, fishing, windsurfing, water skiing, tennis and cycling. The small stone village of Milna is transformed during the summer months into a busy marina front, hosting many sail and motor yachts, and with an excellent choice of bars and restaurants where you can sit and watch the world go by. Local delicacies include freshly grilled fish or Brac organic lamb. For a quieter ambience away from the village, the best seafood restaurant is just a short drive from the property. Or, for those who want to experience the lively night life of Hvar, arrangements can be made for guests to be taken by motor boat. Milna has several grocery stores and a wine shop, as well as a daily fruit and vegetable market, and for early risers, it is possible to buy fresh fish directly from the local fishermen on the quay. Outside its charming villages, the island is a haven of peace and tranquillity, and a drive along the winding roads will take you through a landscape of pine forests, olive groves, vineyards, orange and lemon groves and bougainvillea vines, past, leading to deserted beaches and caves, archaeological sites and ancient monuments.
The property is on a 4000 square metre landscaped estate consisting of olive groves, herb gardens, fruit orchards and Mediterranean plants, and including a swimming pool in a magnificent setting overlooking the sea. The swimming pool is approximately 8 x 4m and is filled with fresh filtered sea water. A gateway leads to the flat rocks just beyond, and the clear blue sea, where there is ladder for easy access in and out of the water for swimming.
Accommodation is in a main house and a guest cottage, surrounded by spacious terraces with covered and uncovered areas furnished for dining outdoors or relaxing in or out of the sun. The main house is all on one level with all the living areas and bedrooms opening to terraces with sea views. A large outdoor summer kitchen, with dining area, is equipped with a barbecue. The pretty guest cottage has a galleried double bedroom, and a sitting area downstairs, which opens to a shaded south-facing veranda with views over the gardens and the sea. There is a satellite TV, DVD and video (with selection of films) in the main living area, and also a satellite TV and DVD in the main bedroom. The property offers a high level of service to help guests get the most out of their stay, and maid service, chef services, catering by a very good local restaurant, shopping, advice about wines or private plane or boat charter can all be arranged (there is mooring available just below the villa). The easiest way to reach Brac is by flight to Split (there is now a good choice of both scheduled and charter flights), from where there is a regular car ferry or catamaran service to the island. It is also possible to arrange for a private boat transfer from Split airport to the villa. Brac also has a small airport, suitable for private planes.
