Zermatt offers some excellent accommodation but the vast majority is in apartments and hotels. Zen, however, is the most fabulous private house, and is one of only a handful available to rent in this world-class resort. Just 100m from the main lift up to Schwarzsee and the Klein Matterhorn, Zen is easily reached by skis at the end of the day, often after a drink or tea at Zum See on the way down. It is also only a short stroll from the centre of town, making the chalet perfect located for both skiers and non-skiers alike.
Refurbished in 2004, the chalet offers all the amenities of modern day living yet has retained its traditional, with antique furniture, rugs and paintings giving it a wonderfully established feel. Relax in style in the outdoor hot tub, or enjoy a steam shower or massage after a day on the slopes. Watch one of the two plasma screen TVs with DVDs, one with digital satellite channels. The property is also equipped with children’s toys, sledges, games, books, CDs, DVDs and videos. For those who want to keep in touch, there is a study with telephone, fax and computer with broadband internet access.
Each of the four bedrooms features its own en-suite marble bathroom, three with balconies looking up to the mighty Matterhorn. There is also a bunk room as part of a family suite should your party be larger than eight guests. Each bedroom has feather pillows and duvets, personal bathrobes and slippers, a hairdryer, and soaps, bubble baths and shampoos in the bathrooms. Further amenities include heated boot racks, fresh flowers and daily newspapers. The chalet has lift access to all floors.
