Chalet Valpierre is one of the true gems of the Alps. It is one of the oldest farmhouses in Val d’Isère, built exclusively in stone, as far back as 1750. Stunningly refurbished in summer 2004, it retains its magical aura that history has bestowed upon it. It is situated in the centre of Val d’Isère, with easy access to the shops, bars, restaurants and lifts, whilst offering a welcome and private haven from the buzz of the resort. Set back from the main road, it is accessed by a private path.
The interior features exposed stonework and wooden beams, combined with natural hues and sumptuous fabrics. Gustavian French antiques sit effortlessly alongside contemporary paintings from Scandinavia and France – a unique partnership in this very special chalet. At the end of the day, you can choose to relax in the sauna, indulge in a massage or soothe weary limbs in the chalet’s steam shower.
Entertainment options include a large plasma screen with dvd, surround sound home cinema and digital satellite channels, as well as a further large LCD screen with DVD and digital satellite channels. Children’s toys are provided, as well as sledges, games, books, DVDs, videos and CDs. There is a study with telephone, fax and computer with wireless broadband internet. Each bedroom has feather pillows and duvets, personal bathrobes and slippers, a hairdryer, and soaps, bubble baths and shampoos in the bathrooms. Further amenities include heated boot racks, a well-stocked wine cellar, fresh flowers and daily newspapers. A chauffeured 4 x 4 is provided for getting about.
