With Spring in the air, why not plan a break in Paris?

Inspired by just having extended our large selection of beautiful Left Bank apartments, not to mention Woody Allen’s brilliant ‘Midnight in Paris’, we are definitely in Paris mode.  For those who know Paris well, the Rue du Cherche Midi, Rue du Dragon, Place St Germain, Rue St André des Arts, Rue Mazarine and  Rue de Buci need no introduction as  some of the most desirable addresses in the 6tharrondissement…. and these addresses are where you could be staying on your next visit to Paris!

One of the major factors contributing to the Rue du Cherche Midi’s exclusive charm is that it is not a major thoroughfare for traffic. An ancient street, it is calm and narrow with many architecturally interesting facades, as well as a wonderful choice of restaurants, boutiques (especially shoe shops!) and antique shops. From here it is an easy walk to the Bon Marché department store, for more shopping, including delicious food items in its renowned ‘Grande Epicerie’, or to the outdoor food market that takes place 3 times a week on the Boulevard Raspail.  We have four apartments here, including the charming Rue du Cherche Midi 5

Ever dreamed of staying in an apartment in St Germain, at the very heart of the Left Bank’s cultural history? Renowned as the intellectual meeting point for the likes of Jean Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and other 20th century writers, philosophers, composers and jazz musicians, all seemed to have frequented the Café des Deux Magots at some point in time, which helps explain why the coffee there today is probably the most expensive in Paris! From our  apartment, St Germain des Prés 4, situated between the Church of St. Germain des Prés and the Café des Deux Magots, you can sit in the sunny living room, with your own home brewed coffee, and overlook this select corner of Paris.

The Rue de Seine and Rue de Buci, with their irresistible food shops and markets, as well as the numerous restaurants, bars, galleries and boutiques, account for the village atmosphere which pervades here.  It is also, conveniently,  just a short walk to the Seine and across to the Louvre on the other side, or along to Boulevard St Michel and the Notre Dame.  Rue Mazarine 2, just one of several apartments we have in this area, is a particularly charming and comfortable one bedroom apartment.
